Third Generation6. John MURPHY was born in 1845 in Macroon, IRE. He was 35 years old at the time of the 1880 census. He died in 1891 at the age of 46. Julia Ann MURPHY and John MURPHY were married in 1873 in New York, NY. The family attended Saint Joseph's Church on 125th Street in New York City. The birthdates of the children are as given in the 1900 US census. According to grandson Leo Loomie, this couple traveled to San Francisco by trans-continental railroad to visit John's brother Edward. They wanted his brother to see his infant nephew and namesake. They tested their baby's ability to travel by train by taking him on a Long Island Railroad steam train to Ronkonkoma! 7. Julia Ann MURPHY was born in 1852 in Cork, IRE. There is uncertainty concerning her date of birth. Apparently she told her daughter Loretta that she was born in 1850, and told her grandson Edward she was born in 1854. In the 1870 census, she is listed as 18 years old. In any case, she arrived in New York with her mother and brother as a child. She died on 2 June 1936 at the age of 84 in New York, NY. At the time of death, her residence was 500 W. 111th St. in NYC. She was buried on June 5 in Calvary Cemetery. Children were:
