Regarding her given names: The elderly woman living with the Perez family at the time of the 1897 census was listed as Rosa, not Josefa. It is this census information that is the basis for her date of birth here. We are uncertain whether Rosa was another name for the same woman, a census-taker error, or another person -- perhaps an old aunt.
