17. Mary PIERCE was born in April 1881 in NC. In 1910 she was living with her parents in Faucett Township. While four grandchildren are listed, the 1910 census indicates that she had only one child ... presumably Jesse. The parent(s) of the others is uncertain, but in the 1930 US Census Jesse identified Annie and Bettie as his sisters.

Children were:

8	i.	Jesse James PIERCE.
	ii.	Annie PIERCE was born in 1903 in NC. In 1930 she and sister Bettie were living with their brother Jesse in Faucett Township with two young children. In 1940, Annie was identified as head of a household in Faucett Township that consisted of she and her sister and eight children under age 14, who apparently were all theirs.
	iii.	Bettie E. PIERCE was born in 1905 in NC.
	iv.	Pattie PIERCE was born in 1907 in NC. She apparently died before 1920.
