34. William Dudley PIERCE was born in 1852 in NC. He died on 21 February 1928 at the age of 76 in Faucett Twsp, Halifax Cty, NC. Most references list his given name only as Dudley. In daughter Susie's 1957 death record it is listed as "William Dudley". Evaline ASH and William Dudley PIERCE were married on 27 December 1873 in Halifax County, NC. In this marriage record, both are listed as "white" ... though all subsequent documents found to date they are listed as "black" or "colored".

There were seven children of this marriage, five were still living in 1910.

In 1900 three of their unmarried, childless children were living with them: Mary, Ellis, and Susie.

35. Evaline ASH was born in 1853 in NC. She died on 12 April 1920 at the age of 67 in Faucett Twsp, Halifax Cty, NC. Later records spell her given name Evelyn.

Children were:

	i.	Allen PIERCE was born on 2 June 1873 in NC. This birthdate is from his WWI Draft Registration. According to the 1920 census, he was an illiterate farmer in Faucett Township with a wife named Pattie Sykes, who he married in 1914. They had at least seven children. He probably died in the 1920s.
	ii.	William M. PIERCE was born in 1877 in NC. He died on 19 April 1949 at the age of 72 in Halifax County, NC. He was a farmer in Faucett Township. He married a woman named Nancy Lynch (born c1887) in 1909. They had at least 10 children.
	iii.	[Infant] PIERCE was born in April 1880 in NC. He was two months old, and still unnamed, in the June 1920 US Census. He likely died very young.
17	iv.	Mary PIERCE.
	v.	Susie PIERCE was born on 7 March 1884 in NC. According to the 1900 census, she was born in July 1889. She died on 26 May 1957 at the age of 73 in Rocky Mount, NC. In 1906, she married a man named Joe Martin (born 1883) and was a widow at the time of her death.
	vi.	Ellis PIERCE was born in July 1885 in Halifax County, NC. He died on 22 April 1914 at the age of 28 in Halifax County, NC. He never married. His death certificate names his parents as Dudley Pierce and Lina Smith?
