6. Juan Bautista Gerardo MORÉ¹ was born on 16 May 1838 in Cuba. He died on 16 October 1897 at the age of 59 in Cuba.

In late 2005, questions were raised about the parentage of Juan Bautista Moré by living members of the de Ajuria family, based on their own family records and the definitive reference work on Cuban family history -- the Conde Juruco's Historia de Familias Cubanos. They believed that José Eugenio Moré did not have another wife prior to his marriage to Maria de las Mercedes de Ajuria y Munar (with whom he had no children), and that no woman named Maria Cecilia de Ajuria lived in Cuba during the time period in question. They believed that the genealogy done on behalf of Moré descendants about 1920, and upon which this family history was based, was flawed.

Checking Cuban records was not feasible due to government constraints. But, we were able to correct the errors through the assistance of a family member living in the Dominican Republic. He established that the father of Juan Bautista Moré was a cousin of José Eugenio Moré living in Santiago de Cuba. The corrected database has been on this website since 2011.

Maria Irene Dolores BELLIDO DE LUNA and Juan Bautista Gerardo MORÉ were married about 1862.

7. Maria Irene Dolores BELLIDO DE LUNA was born about 1848 in Cuba.

	vi.	Adolfo MORÉ was born on 10 January 1872 in Cuba. He died on 28 July 1890 at the age of 18 in Cuba.
	vii.	José Eugenio MORÉ was born on 12 April 1873 in Guanabacoa, Cuba. He died on 24 April 1953 at the age of 80. A birthyear of 1868, a marriage year of 1888, and death in 1935 are given in the IGI for this man, and are incorrect. His grandson recalls him and verifies these dates.
	viii.	Francisco MORÉ was born on 5 June 1874 in Cuba. He died on 17 July 1944 at the age of 70.
	ix.	Angel MORÉ was born on 21 December 1875 in Cuba. He died on 1 July 1951 at the age of 75.
	x.	Juan MORÉ was born (date unknown).
