1. Dulce Maria GONZALEZ was born on 26 June 1892 in Havana, Cuba. There is contradictory evidence about her birth date, and Cuban records are not available to verify it. Her death certificate dated June 29, 1921 states her age as 29, which makes her year of birth 1892. This conforms with frequent family recollections that she died at "only 29." Her January 1915 marriage certificate gives her age as 24, indicating birth in 1890, and her grave marker also reads that she was born on June 26, 1890. She died on 29 June 1921 at the age of 29 in New York, NY. According to her death certificate, she died of pneumonia. But, her son-in-law (a physician) was convinced the real cause of death was a "botched abortion." She is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, NY.
