Seventh Generation

116. János FEKETE (NIGRINI)328 was born in November 1674 in Magyargencs, Vas m, HUN. We believe his father was probably György Nigrini, who at the time of János' birth, was beginning his service as Evangelical pastor in Magyargencs. He died on 4 March 1758 at the age of 83 in Csikvánd, Györ m, HUN.329 He died at age 83 years and 4 months. The death register indicates that he served for 40 years as Evangelical pastor in Csikvánd. We know he was the Evangelical pastor in Csikvánd, Györ megye, for 40 years, and still held that office in 1741. In 1754, he served briefly as interim pastor at Boköd, Komárom megye. In the reference to that brief tenure, it was noted that the "old" János Nigrini was the "ousted" pastor of Csikvánd. He was probably removed by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Györ who was the bane of Lutheran pastors in the area in the mid-1700s. Whether the cause of the ouster was the result of some action on his part, or rather due to the arrest of his son Péter, is unknown. János FEKETE (NIGRINI) was married about 1710.

János FEKETE (NIGRINI) was born about 1720 in Csikvánd, Györ m, HUN. This man is known from two facts. His father was referred to as the "old" János Nigrini implying a son of that name; and from his marriage record where he is identified as a pastor who is rector of the Lutheran school in Dobra (Szentgotthárd) Vas megye.
