Transcript from Lutheran Baptismal Register
This transcription was done in 1927 by a pastor in the Puconci Lutheran Church. By that time, the area was a part of Yugoslavia, not Hungary as it was in 1890. Therefore it is in the Serbo-Croatian language, with which I am totally unfamiliar. But, quite obviously, it records the basic facts of my grandmother's 1890 baptism.

Format: General Church Form with Tax Stamp.

Content of Transcription.
Top-of-Page Material.
- The bold heading simply reads "Baptismal Register." The church is identified as the Evangelical (ie Lutheran) church of Puconci.
- The year date (1890) is written out, and the location in the register [Volume VII (ie 7) Page 152/153] is identified.
Actual Transcription (Boxed).
- Column 1 identifies the entry number in the original register -- 272 in this case.
- Block 2 gives the birth and baptismal dates. In the original record, the baptismal date is pretty clearly November 25, therefore we see a transcription error here.
- Block 3 identifies the child as a legitimate female named Maria.
- Column 4 gives the name and information about the parents.
- Column 5 is where they live -- village and house number.
- Column 6 are the names of the god-parents.
- Column 7 is the name of the pastor.
- Column 8 is reserved for remarks and is not used here.
Bottom-of-Page Material.
- The pastor who provided the transcription in 1927 signed and dated the form, and impressed it with the Serbo-Croatian language seal of the parish.
- The 10 dinar Yugoslav tax stamp is cancelled by pen to preclude its reuse.
