Seventh Generation


76. Gottlieb RIEMANN was born in 1747 in Germany. He was a German Lutheran tailor and farmer. He arrived in Philadelphia with his father aboard the ship "Good Hope" on 01 Oct 1753. The family first settled in Berks County and later moved on to Lebanon County. In 1773, Gottlieb moved to Bedford County (which became Somerset County in 1795) where he bought 800 acres called "The Glades" from Jacob Schneider. Feronica [wife of Gottlieb RIEMANN] and Gottlieb RIEMANN were married about 1770 in Berks County, PA. There were five children of this marriage. Charles was the only one that anglicized the spelling of the family name.

John RIEMANN was born (date unknown).

iii.

George RIEMANN died on 4 September 1834 in Somerset County, PA. According to records of the Rayman Burial Ground, he died at age 61y 3m 20d.

Elizabeth RIEMANN was born (date unknown). She married John Shank.

v.

Anna RIEMANN was born (date unknown). She married Peter Switzer.
