Third Generation4. Jacob ROTERMUND4 was born on 3 January 1791 in Eickedorf bei Grasberg, Hannover, GER.5 He died on 11 April 1865 at the age of 74 in Grasberg, Hannover, GER. He was buried in Grasberg on April 15. Jacob fought under the Duke of Wellington in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, as a soldier in the Landwehr Battalion of Verden, part of the 4th Hanoverian Brigade of the 6th Division of the Anglo-German forces. The entry concerning house number 15 reads: Nr. 15. Erster Siedler: Erert Bollmann; 52 Morgen. Am 30. März 1818 übergab Erert Bollmann wegen körperlicher Schwäche und Schulden den Hof bis zur Wirtschaftstüchtigkeit seines 15 jährigen Sohnes an Jacob Rotermund. Am 30. Juli 1818 hat Jacob Rotermund die Stelle endgültig übernommen. Der Bruder von Jacob Rotermund, Diedrich Rotermund, hat am 22. März 1870 die Stelle mit allen Schulden für 400 Thaler Gold übernommen. Besitzer 1985: Hans Brüning, Meinershausen Nr. 41. In English this says: On 30 March 1818, Erert Bollmann -- due to physical frailty and debt -- turned over responsibility for the efficient operation of the farm at Meinershausen #15 from his 15 year-old son Arend to Jacob Rotermund. On 30 July 1818, Jacob Rotermann took formal possession of the place [note: with his new wife Anna Maria Mindermann, Bollmann's stepdaughter]. On 22 Mar 1870 Diedrich Rotermund bought the place for 400 gold thalers. In 1985 the owner of Meinershausen #41 was Hans Brüning. The transaction was probably handled in two steps due to Rotermund assuming the debt in March, but Bollmann delaying the formal sale until after the marriage. Anna Maria MINDERMANN and Jacob ROTERMUND were married on 16 May 1818 in Grasberg, Hannover, GER.6 5. Anna Maria MINDERMANN was born on 16 November 1798.7 This birth is recorded in the separate section for illegitimate births. She died on 3 February 1869 at the age of 70 in Grasberg, Hannover, GER. She was also known as Maria Harms. Children were:
