14. Sidney Halifax LONG was born on 8 March 1896 in Halifax County, NC. This is the birthdate he provided in 1918. His NC death record gives his birth as 10 Mar 1898. He died on 1 December 1954 at the age of 58 in Enfield, NC. He was buried on the 5th at Bradley Cemetery in Halifax County. When he registered for the draft in 1917, he was employed as a farm laborer by his step-father Edward McDaniel. He was inducted into the US Army in June of 1918, but was honorably discharged in August due to a disability. In 1930 he was an illiterate farmer living in Faucett Twsp.
Leana "Anna" WILLIAMS and Sidney Halifax LONG were married on 31 March 1918 in Halifax County, NC. They were married by Chas. Pierce B.M. (Baptist Minister?) and an R.B. Pierce was one of the witnesses. In 1936 they had quadruplets, none of whom survived. 15. Leana "Anna" WILLIAMS was born on 27 March 1901 in Halifax County, NC. She died on 15 August 1943 at the age of 42 in Enfield, NC. She died while giving birth to twins at home "before arrival of mid-wife or physician" ... neither of the twins survived. In her death record, her occupation was listed as a "Domestic".
