10. János BÁNFI was born in 1789. He died on 22 July 1828 at the age of 39 in Pálmafa (Puseci), Vas m, HUN. We know with certainty that this ancestor died before 1836, the date of his daughter's first marriage. Associating this death register entry with him is somewhat conjectural, but all the data is reasonable. He died at age 39 and was buried on July 24. He was a farm laborer (földmüves) in Puzsocz (Puzeci)..

Siblings of our ancestor, Ilona Bánfi:

All members of this family were born prior to availability of birth records. Mihály and Ilona are certainly siblings. Six other possible siblings were identified. All are known only from their marriage records which identify their father as the late János Bánfi of Puzsocz, but do not identify the mother. I have chosen to include four in the family history -- József, Judit, Katalin and Magdolna -- since all the information available is consistent with this family. But, it is certainly possible that the three younger daughters were the result of a second marriage.

István (b 1798; m <1830; m 1836 #51; d 1875 #175) and Mátyás (m 1841 #12) were excluded because both were widowers at the time of the recorded marriages, and so likely part of an earlier generation, rather than brothers of Ilona.
