Overview. The general format of this register is very standard and obvious. The columns are: 1) Month; 2) Day of Month; 3) Child's Given Name; 4) Parent's Names; 5) Names of Godparents; and 6) Name of Pastor performing Baptism.

The remarkable aspect of this period, especially in Reformed churches, is the proliferation of godparents. It seems that "it takes a village" was taken quite literally in this time and place. The four baptisms seen on this page have 3, 12, 10, and 10 couples standing up for the child respectively. My great-great-grandfather János Rigó is the third baptism listed.
