56. Pál SZAKMÁR was born in 1752. He died on 16 March 1829 at the age of 77 in Alsórepás (Nizné Repase), Szepes m, HUN.¹⁵⁶ He died at age 77. Mária [SZAKMÁR] and Pál SZAKMÁR were married about 1775. There is no certainty that these people were a couple. They are included here because the Szakmár's we're interested in ... Pál and András ... appear to be the only family named Szakmár in Alsórepás in the 19th century. And, this pair died there shortly after the apparent move of that family from Olsavica to Alsórepás. Their ages at death make it reasonable that they are the grandparents of Pál and András.

The Szakmár's likely came there from Olsavica when Pál married Katalin Lyszony of Alsórepás in the early 1820's. From the late 1820's, the brothers Pál and András Szakmár were identified as millers in that town. These two, followed by Pál's son Péter operated the mill until at least the early 1880's.

But, there's a lot of missing data largely due to the non-availability of Alsárepás church records prior to 1825, the large number of Szakmár families in neighboring communities, and the decision of some of them to change their surname to Lukács. Therefore, it is unlikely we'll ever sort this family out completely.

57. Mária [SZAKMÁR] was born in 1757. She died on 27 November 1825 at the age of 68 in Alsórepás (Nizné Repase), Szepes m, HUN.¹⁵⁷ She died at age 68.
